Sell a nikon d7000 an buy a d700?

The price is low (700 euro), but the shutter is at 150 000.

Why? Large viewfinder and more DOF/quality.

If the shutter breaks down, I'm facing 300 euro for a new one I guess…

I don't think I'd do that. The D7000 is a fine camera and I presume that it is relatively new. This particular D700 might not have much life left in it. You ought to check the image quality of the D700 vs. D7000 anyway. I don't know, but I suspect that the D7000 is quite comparable to the D700.By now, 12MP on an FX sensor is kind of limiting.

Yeah with a 150k shutter count I'd say skip it. That's like buying a used car with a tone of mileage on it.

Yes FX is better but that's it though its just better not outstandingly better. You still need to buy FX lenses to.

What do you need an FX body for. Is photography a hobby for you or do you make money at it.

The official life expectancy of the D700 shutter is 150, 000 activations- so this one is living on borrowed time. Yep, there are reports of the D700 shutter lasting for 300-400, 000 activations, but even if true those are exceptions and it should not be taken as expected.

So rather look at the camera as coting 1000euro, since you will have to replace the shutter sooner rather than later. If it still feels liem a deal, go fr it, but don't think you are getting away with only payin 700euro
