Am using third party battery grip for my nikon D3200 for a week now, the legit nikon batt and the third party batt were both recognized by the cam.both batteries were inserted eversince until battery indicator triggers low batt alarm. My question is are they both being consumed while both are inserted? I inserted them one at a time and both indicates low batt alarm. Please advise.

I caught a mention online, of the problems of using these third party grips and one comment suggested that the only way round the 'problems' was to use two 'Nikon' branded battery packs… Because there are a few different brands making these grips and the quality isn't constant, it doesn't seem to work for everybody… Some users seem to get away with using the AA battery pack with only one Nikon branded battery pack… Seems to depend on which pack they insert first.

Again I can only emphasize that users did mention that 'consistency' with these grips isn't good and that advice that will help one user, might not be good for another… I'm sure I caught these comments on 'Amazon' and buyers reviews for the same product… Give it a quick check, and good luck.

The Nikon grips will share batteries. For 3rd party cameras, it depends on the grip, but more often than not, you have to swap batteries. Since your camera was not intended to use a grip, you probably do not have the dual battery monitor that advanced Nikon cameras have (in the menu system).
