Is a telephoto lens necessary for a small wedding?

I'm renting equipment and want to save the bride as much cash as possible. I'm currently renting a Nikon d700 as well as a 24-700mm f/2.8g AF-S ED lens. I already own a wide angle and a prime lens.
Because it's a small wedding, do you think I need to rent a telephoto (70-200) lens?

The 28-70 mm f/2.8 is a fine lens for shooting any event, including weddings.
You may want to add an external flash and flash bracket to your kit

^^ I do! I have an sb-900.

I saw an article the other day about this, let me check my history real fast and I will get back with the link
