Camera Viewfinder is out of focus?

My Nikon D3200 viewfinder is out of focus! I've tried adjusting the little dial next to it but it's always out of focus. It's not in warranty any more.

Is this a recent occurance? Do you wear prescription glasses and trying it without them?

The range of adjustment for the diopter control you are attempting to adjust is limited.

If you are near/farsighted and not wearing your glasses, you can buy additional diopters from Nikon that can extend the range either plus or minus if the diopter control is not strong enough for you.

But, are you sure it is just the viewfinder? Camera focusing properly? Camera in auto focus mode? Camera in Matrix focus mode, or if Spot focus mode, are you focusing on the correct point?

You did not provide a lot of info, so these are all possibilities.
