Do canon lenses work on Nikon cameras?
I'm looking into buying the Nikon d5100. I have a canon camera from the same generation. I have two lenses for the canon and I'm wondering if they will work on the Nikon. I can give the specific names of the lenses if that makes a difference. I just don't have them with me right now.
They can - but we don't know which Canon camera lenses you are dealing with. Do a search with your favorite browser using "canon nikon lens adapter" and see what fits.
You don't want to use adapters in this case. Sell all of your Canon stuff and buy a good Nikon lens or buy a Canon body.
No, they won't. Two different mounts. And you don't want to deal with adapters. Just sell what you have and go full Nikon.
No.
That is unless you use a Canon-EF to Nikon-F lens adapter. You would likely lose automatic functions of both lens and camera and you may have trouble setting the aperture size manually which defeats the whole exercise. It doesn't matter what Canon lenses you have exactly. It would be best to sell them to raise funds for a Nikon lens instead.
