What are some good digital cameras? - 1

I want to buy a good digital camera for my birthday, but i'm not much of a photographer. I have been torn between these two.

the nikon camera is a little too expensive for me though.
is it worth the extra money?

Compare their specs in terms in quality, usage, functions and features, but for me, canon would always be the best.
