Tell me the compatible Nikon camera body for Nikon 70-300mm 1:4-5.6G AF lense AF?
Please tell me the compatible Nikon camera body for Nikon 70-300mm 1:4-5.6G AF lense AF?
It fits any Nikon 35mm SLR or DSLR, but only allows autofocus on bodies with built-in motors (D7000, D90 etc.) check the Nikon website for a full list.
It WILL NOT fit Nikon compact and bridge cameras or other manufacturers' DSLRs - it will fit the Nikon 1 series EVIL models with an adapter, but you may lose autofocus and some, or all of your exposure modes. Again, the Nikon website will give you all the information you need.
The best Nikkor 70-300 mm lens is the AF-S with VR. It is sharper than the one you listed and will auto-focus with any Nikon dSLR, even old D40's
You probably don't want that lens. It is nowhere near the quality of the AF-S 70-300mm version. The $175 price tag sounds nice, but not when you get a $175 lens as a result.
You can get the AF 70-300mm refurbished from Adorama for $120, or the AF-S 70-300mm for $360.

As a result, you save $55 if you buy a refurbished AF lens, or $200 if you buy the refurbished AF-S version.
And none of Nikon's entry level DSLRs (D40, D60, D3xxx, or D5xxx) will autofocus on the AF version. But they will autofocus on the AF-S version just fine. So if you are looking at a D3100, D3200, D5100, or D5200, you need the more expensive AF-S version for autofocus to work.
Otherwise, the AF version will work, but you will be manually focusing it.
