Nikon or canon is best in SLR's?
Hi friends i'm planning to buy a SLR cam. I would like to knw which one is the best, Canon or Nikon.
in all its way
They're the same. Canon is more popular
There's no "best" between them.
The answer depends upon your budget, his level of previous experience, what kind of photography your dad is into, whether he wants a pocketable/lightweight camera (in which case neither companies dSLRs are "best"), whether he already owns many good quality Canon EOS or Nikon lenses and many other things as well.
Even if you do decide that a dSLR is really the ideal solution for him compared to compact, bridge or CSC cameras, it all boils down to which one feels best in his hands as he uses it.
With respect, by asking a load of well-intentioned strangers you're approaching the question from the ---end. The best person to ask is your dad. Surprising him might seem good, but it can backfire spectacularly if he ends up not using the camera because it doesn't suit him.
As for megapixel counts, ignore them. More is definitely not better and any current digicam from well-known manufacturers is able to capture finer detail than any realistically sized print is able to show.
I highly recommend the Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR with 18-55mm IS II Lens and EOS HD Movie Mode. Features include:
- 12.2 MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor for high image quality and speed.
- ISO 100 - 6400 for shooting from bright to dim light.
- Improved EOS HD Movie mode with expanded recording and with in-camera video editing options.
- High speed, reliable 9-point AF system utilizing a high precision, f/5.6 cross-type center point.
- Enhanced metering with a 63-zone, Dual-layer metering system for accurate metering between exposures.

I also have a list of all the best cameras out there now if you want to look at more options:
Same. Just choose the one that suits your budget
It depends on what you are bias to, image quality or body control!
Nikon guarantees you a better image quality, most studios are using Nikon Imaging.
you can compare image quality at: digitalreview.ca,
dpreive, imaging-resource.com, dxomark.com, snapsort.com
All the best.
Both are excellent, and each brand and each model may have individual features that attract your friend more. Look also at Sony, a fast rising star in the DSLR world. I'm a Nikon user.
The best is Hasselblad. Canon is the most popular but at the same level as Nikon, Pentax and Sony.
Pentax did it before either of them.
