Nikon and canon lenses?
Is it possible to put nikon lenses on a canon 1100d dslr?
The short answer is, 'No.'
The longer one, involving adapters, is technically possible, but it's expensive and the loss of features makes it more hassle than it's worth.
Sigma, Tamron and Tokina all make lenses in Nikon fit, if you find genuine Nikkors too expensive, but buying lenses in another manufacturer's mount is a waste of time and money.
I don't know about it.
Yes, you can buy an adapter that will allow you to mount a Nikon lens on Canon cameras but you will lose a lot of functionality such as autofocussing. The reverse is not true since the Nikon sensor is closer to the back of the lens than on a Canon so the protruding mount of the canon would damage the sensor on a Nikon and thus no adapter exists for it.
Is it worthwhile to use an adapter to mount a Nikon lens on a Canon? Generally no, unless you already have a collection of Nikon lenses and are changing to Canon. It is far better to buy lenses that are purpose built to your specific camera. There are occasional exceptions- specific lenses which are just so good as to be worth mounting since the loss of automatic functionality is made up by the lenses exceptional quality. One Nikon lens I have often heard of being used by Canon users due to its exceptional optics is the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 Aside from that, I don't know of any reason to favour a Nikon lens over a Canon lens on a Canon camera
