Will a Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G macro lens be as good as a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens?

I want to get a prime lens and I was wondering if I should get the 40mm macro or the 50mm. I do like taking pictures of small things (close up of flowers, plants, insects, etc.), but I also pictures in low light and portraits so I was wondering if the 1.0 difference in the f-stop will make the lens bad for low light photography. Both lens are about 200 dollars and as a broke college student it has to be one or the other.

Added (1). the 50mm f/1.8G isn't a macro

Added (2). I know that the 50mm isn't a macro, I was wondering if it would still be good in low light. I have no question about the macro. I was asking the question because Low light performance is kinda more important to me than macro functionality but not much.

Difference between the NIKKOR 18-200mm, 18-300mm, and the 70-200mm?

I need a lens that has a good quality zoom (all the way) without narrowing down the range to much. It'll have to be good for nature as well as, portraits.

I do mostly nature photography at different times of the day so lighting can't be an issue. My portraits are rarely done in doors and are never in a studio.

My photographs can be viewed on FB.com/TheBeautyThruaLens.

Which lens should I buy? Price aside.

Sony Vs Nikon, which is best for point and shoot cameras?

I have a liking for Nikon cameras and they have superb quality and are durable. However Sony digicams are offering lots of features which Nikon is not offering at the same price. So I thought it would be wise to buy Sony.

But how are Sony's reviews? I feel that it's not durable though it offers awesome features. Durability is very important for me.
Also Sony is offering Carl Zeiss Tessar lens while Nikon is offering only Nikkor lens whatever be the price range. It's pics are really nice. I'm confused!

Which brand should I buy Nikon or Sony?

What is your opinion the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8?

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8
AF-S NIKKOR G ED N

How would you rate the super wide Nikon 14-24mm?
I have never seen or used one but am aware of some pros and cons. No VR, heavy and bulky and expensive specialist filter adapter.
However, does the super wide angle and Image Quality make it worthwhile investment for Nikon 700 and D810 owners who shoot landscape?
I value your thoughts and experience.
Nikon 24-70mm

Added (1). Sorry - Ignore the mention of the Nikon 24-70mm. That was for anotrher question!

My camera viewfinder is black, what do I need to do?

I have a Nikkormat FTn Film Camera, and I have set it up to the best of my knowledge but the viewfinder is black (And the lens cap is off the lens too). What could the problem be? I appreciate any answers as I'm new to film.

Added (1). Do I need batteries for it, or are the batteries just for the meter?
