I need a 80-150mm F4 lens?
I have Canon EOS system with some ring adapters to mount Contax and Yashica, Nikon F, Olympus OM, Pentacon Six and Exakta lens.
I like manual focusing so vintage lens are not a problem.
Ususally i prefer the image quality of prime lenses. Is there something that have image quality near a prime in that focal range (about 80-150mm) with 2.8-4 diagphram aperture?
Added (1). Budget: 0-200 USD
Added (2). I need a zoom
The Canon 55-250mm IS will be your best bet. A constant f/2.8 or constant f/4 zoom is not available at that focal length anywhere close to your budget figure.
The cheapest that i know of is the Sigma 50-150mm/2.8, which is about thrice your budget.
Old zoom lenses do not go to f/2.8. If you want prime quality, get a prime lens. At 150mm, you'd have difficulty getting to f/2.8 even with primes. 80mm perhaps but don't count on it. Still, the old geezers using film had tons of fabulous pictures with whatever they had, didn't they?
Canon would have more than one prime lens in that range. The independents such as Tamron, Sigma, and Tokina would have at least one prime lens for Canon in that range - probably a macro lens. Sure, if you are into older lenses there must be thousands out there second-hand. Your local camera shops probably have some that they would love to sell to you. Just check that with an adaptor they would actually work on your EOS - maybe they would not focus back to infinity, thus would be for close-up only. Probably several Canon lenses just waiting for you on a lonely shelf.
