How to get best results at night and indoor function with digital camera?

I have Nikon cool pix3300 digital camera, but i really don't knw wht to take best pics, specailly at nigh as well as videos specially indoor photoshoot or video shoot, i tried but finally i turn in on auto mode, this is all i can do?
please help me out. How to adujust it… Specially for indoor events and domestic light.

Little pocket P&Ss like yours are cute, but they really are just toys.
They have very VERY tiny sensors (yet way too many pixels crammed into them) and that is why they fail in low light situations.

A camera like yours can do a pretty decent job in bright light, but there's NOTHING you can do in low light.

Your results will always be very grainy, because the camera needs to use high ISO to be able to do any low light shots at all that don't involve very long shutter speeds (which means bad camera shake/blur).
