How to change the shutter speed on Nikon 8800?
Step by step please? 10 points best answer, thank you!
On the right side of the camera you have two dials set into the grip.
One in front below the on/off switch and one in back directly opposite the one in front.
Rotatiing the one in front left and right should change aperture.
Rotating the one in back left or right should change shutter speed.
This configuration goes back to my first Nikon pro body, the F5, so it should work now.
If you want to learn more about your camera, get a copy of the manual from http://butkus.org.
You need to put the camera into P, S, or M mode (top mode dial), then rotate the command dial to change the shutter speed. You may need to put the camera into "shooting mode" to do this (depress the shutter half-way down).
The camera typically stays in "shooting mode" only for a few seconds as this is when the metering system is active. However, it does tend to use up the battery, which is why it only stays in that mode for a short period of time.
