Good high quality canon eos camera?

I'm mostly looking to just take nice high quality pictures of myself, and my friends and family etc. I want to buy a canon eos camera and i was wondering which one would be recommended? I'm only looking at canon eos so please don't try to tell me to buy a nikon or a different type of camera.i've heard the rebel works well but what others one take good high quality pictures?

When it comes to dslr cameras, my opinion, Canon is the best. You've hit on two words that you don't even need to ask, "good" and "high quality". Of course.

First dslr, I'd recommend the t3 for about $500.

All of the budget EOS SLR models are called, 'Rebel,' (in North America, they're, 'Kiss,' in Japan and numbered everywhere else) - even the 35mm ones, so make sure you get a digital model.

Any DSLR from Pentax or Nikon is just as good, and Sony's SLTs are better for video, but if you're stuck on Canon, just buy the one you can afford. You might even like the EVIL EOS-M, stranger things have happened.

If you are limiting yourself to Canon, you are limiting yourself to mediocre cameras - especially in the entry level market. Canon is regurgitating the same old tired 18megapixel platform over and over again. They have not had any new technology in 4 years.

If you compare sensor ratings at DxOMark you will find that Canon struggles to even get into the top 20, and that is with their $7, 000 professional DSLRs, while almost all of Nikon's cameras are in the top 20 - even their $500 entry level models.
