Does this sound new?

I bought a supposedly new Nikon d7100 on ebay, well when I got the camera it didn't seem new, usually when you first turn on a new one it has you set it up, time zones etc. This one didn't

Plus, after doing an online shutter count it had 2,386 actuations.

The seller has a very high feedback rating

Does it sound like I got robbed?

Should I demand either a replacement or partial refund?

Added (1). i posted this yesterday but mistakenly said it was a D700

My Nikon D200 all of the sudden won't focus correctly. Anyone have a fix for this?

When I try to focus on something, the lens moves but won't focus on what I want. Just wondering if there might be a fix to this. Camera wasn't damaged or anything. Just wondered if there's a fix to this?

Is the Nikkor AF-S 35 mm 1.8 DX compatible with the Nikon d800?

I was under the impression that most any Nikon lens (being all F mounts) would be interchangeable between DX and FX cameras. Yet my 35mm, which was bought for a DX camera, will not attach to the d800. Though I line up the indicators, I can't twist it into place without getting some serious resistance. Attaching the same lens to my DX camera is a breeze and requires very little force. The same is happening with my Nikkor AF-S 55-200 mm 5.6 DX lens, and with my Nikkor AF-S 18-55 mm 3.5 DX lens. Are all of these incompatible with the d800 or am I missing something obvious?

On-the-go tethering options for Nikon DSLRs?

I have two weddings coming up in October, and I would love to be able to use my Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 lens, which produces a beautiful asthetic at 1.4, but lacks the autofocus of Nikon's (much) more expensive version. Both my bodies (D300, D700) support live view. I'm hoping to make a bracket for a monitor or tablet that I can quickly affix to my tripod while shooting to get crisp focus- this is difficult for my eyes when peeping through the viewfinder, and focus at 1.4 or 1.8 isn't but a few centimeters deep.

Has anyone done tethered shooting on location like this? I would prefer using a very compact set up, instead of a laptop, table, etc. My guess is that all I'll need is a monitor of some sort with a video input? I've seen at least one person use video input on a portable dvd player successfully with a D7000, but I'm not certain if that would work with my cameras.

What other companies made Nikon Lens?

My uncle gave up his D700 for me because he got a better camera. The problem I had when I got it was that I didn't have a lens, my uncle wanted to keep his lens. My other uncle is also crazy about photography, he has 7 great lens at home. Each of them cost a fortune. I asked if I can borrow one of his lens, he gave up his Sigma lens to me. I have never heard of Sigma, but that lens works so great on my camera. From there, I wonder what other companies made lens for Nikon. Is it worth it to buy those lens?

Which Nikkor lens is the most reliable?

I have a Nikon D700 and looking for a lens to use while I'm in college. I want it to be able to be enough zoom in that I can take a picture of the whole club. My uncle wouldnt let me bring his 70-200 2.8 lens to college, so I'm thinking about getting something like this. http://www.amazon.com/...B0009HN57Y

If you guys have better suggestion, I'm all ears.

Btw, I'm high right now, thats why my typing isn't so good. Excuse me please.

Which should be my new Nikon DSLR camera? - 1

My uncle let me borrow his Nikon D700 camera for the summer with a really good lens, the 70-200mm 2.8-5. Something. I love how I can manually change the iso and aperture quicker than those beginner level cameras. Then my uncle bought a better camera and let me have his D700. I'm thinking about selling the D700. If I do, my budget for a new camera would be 1200 dollars. Just for an upgrade and new model. I would also want a new lens included in that budget because I have my 70-200mm back to my uncle:/
