Nikon D4? Or Canon 1DX?
I'm deciding between a NIkon D4 and a Canon 1DX. I'm starting to do photography and decided to go all out.
Added (1). *Previous experience with point and shoots.*
Added (2). Also want to get a Leica M9 as a play around with camera.
I believe the canon 1Dx is rated better. I'm not sure that either of these cameras are the best to learn on. Going all out for a beginner would be something like a 6D or D600. They still offer some of the conveniences beginners rely on, but offer full frame image sensors. The pro cameras have less automated features and require you know more about the technical aspect of photography. Just my thought on it.
Canon 1DX is better.
You must have more money than experience using fully adjustable cameras or you would already know the answer to this based upon the camera system which you learned the basics of photography
It is rare that someone would make their first dSLR one that costs $6, 000 to $6, 800 just for a body.
Here is how the D4 and 1DX sensors compare as well as the M9
