Nikon D2x or Nikon D700?

Which camera should I get? Which one do you guys think is better and why? I need some general feedback so I can orientate myself in the proper direction because I can't decide.

It depends on one thing really.
Do you want a full frame dSLR which the D700 is or do you want an older professional, but cropped sensored (APS-C) camera?
The D2X should not cost you more than $850 (body only), so in a way, buying it will leave you more money to buy a few lenses.
Here is how the sensors compare in the lab

As you can see, the D700 is head and shoulders above the D2x when it comes to over all performance and especially when shooting at high ISO's

D700 unless you need the d2's build.
