Which camera model is better?

Which one do you think is more worth the money. I'm either going to get a Nikon D3100 or a D3000 for my birthday. The D3000 is cheaper and I can also get like, a christmas present besides that or I can get the D3100 and get nothing else. It's not really a matter of other presents because i don't care about that, but which camera is more worth the money in your opinion?

I've owned both actually! I had the D3000 for a month, because I got it for Christmas last year, but then Best buy had a special on the D3100 for only $50 more, so I exchange the D3000 for it. Sorry, kinda confusing.
But anyways, it all depends on what you do. The main things that make the D3100 better, are that is has 4 more megapixels, and that is shoots HD video, compared to no video in the D3000.So it's worth it if you want a built in camcorder, and it's worth it if you print your pics and blow them up where detail counts.
If all you care about is the basic pictures, just save some money and go with the D3000. They're both great!

This Nikon D3100 is a phenomenal deal for non professionals, the rest of us people that want to take
family and travel shots. I've owned DSLRs since 2004, starting with a Nikon D70 and then moving to
D40, D200 and Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens (Black) and Canon EOS 40D 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only). Those are all excellent cameras, but this Nikon D3100 is better than all of those in one crucial area, the area that matters
