What lens is suitable for Nikon D90?

New lens for my baby, Nikon D90 ;)

Added (1). I'm using a 18-105mm VR Kit-Lens. Would it be possible to mount non-NIKKOR lens to my D90?

All Nikkor lenses are compatible with all Nikon cameras. They all have the same "F-Mount" and are all interchangeable.

For wide angle I'd go for the 18-55mm

I don't know about a macro that would work for you, as there aren't really any that are cheap. I'd suggest looking at lenses made by Sigma, you can get them with F-Mount, and they're generally cheaper than Nikkors.

It's impossible to give you good advice without knowing what you find your current lens to be lacking at.
What is your current lens anyway? And what kind of subjects do you shoot?

Edit':
Yes, lenses made by Tamron, Sigma and Tokina work, if they have a Nikon mount. These companies make lenses for various brands of cameras. I'd choose them carefully though - while they each have some good lenses, they also have many bad ones.

What subjects do you mostly shoot? Portraits? Wildlife/sports? Landscape?

Any AF, AF-I or AF-S will work on your D90

I guess it depends on what you want to use it for.

If you go on the nikon site they have alltheir lenses listed and separated them into categories (landscape, Portrait, Macro, ect)

There's adapters to convert lenses to work with different companies but i think it disables the features like VR, AF and stuff.

Sigma, Tamron and Tokina all make lenses in Nikon mount - just make sure they fit before you buy.

Of course, lenses from other camera manufacturers won't, except for a handful made in the former SU, for the Kiev 17/19/20 budget SLRs - which aren't really relevant as they're MF.

You just don't buy a new lens. You have to know what you need the new lens for before you get one.

Here is a general guide to Nikon lens compatibility.

You can use non-Nikon lenses on your dSLR, just make sure it has a Nikon mount. The most popular third-party lens brands are Sigma and Tamron. Between the two, the former is slightly better. The best third-party lens brand is Tokina.

If you want better than original Nikkor lenses, look at Schneider, Zeiss and Voigtlander. The best lenses optically don't zoom. Among them, the very best are those that don't have autofocus.

You can mount a variety of aftermarket lenses, provided they are manufactured for a Nikon F mount. Tokina, Sigma, and Tamron all make them.

I have a D90 and own the following lenses:

Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye.
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 superwide angle (perfect landscape lens).
Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5~5.6 (my walk-around lens).
Nikon 40mm f/2.8 micro (backup macro lens).
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 (great low light lens).
Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 (great fast sports lens)
Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro (primary macro lens)
Tokina 80-400mm f/4.5~5/6 (extreme zoom/wildlife/birding lens)

I'm not suggesting that these lenses will be suitable for you, but you may be interested in a similar variety.
