What Image Sensor Swab Should I Use For A Nikon D3000?

Even if it's not a proper sensor swab i just need something to clean it with

They usually only add smears to your already dirty sensor

If there's just dust on your sensor, use a blower like the Giottos Rocket Air Blower, you need to follow the instructions in your user manual to lock up the mirror and hold the shutter open using the bulb setting. Then with the camera facing down so that the dust will fall out of the camera, use light puffs to remove any dust.

After doing this, take a shot of the sky and look at the image at 100% looking for any remaining dust. Repeat as necessary.

If you happen to have sticky particles like pollen, you may be better off having it professionally cleaned.

In the future do NOT change lenses in dusty or windy conditions.

From time to time, make sure that you blow any dust that you find in the chamber behind the lens. Keeping that area clean will help prevent dust from eventually getting into the sensor area.

I have disagreed with fhotoace on this topic many times, lol. Personally, I see no problem with cleaning your own sensor. It is not black magic. Unless you are as clumsy as a bull in a china shop, you can do it just as well as any "pro service". You DO need to educate yourself and use the correct equipment products.

PS… Yes, I have done it myself plenty of times and never the slightest problems, … Just a nice, spotless sensor.
