Nikon D5000 Flash Issue?
I'm pretty sure my camera's flash is broken… Does anyone know if I could bring this into a store and get it repaired? Or could I get an external flash for my camera and that'd work too, or does the external flash need the original flash to work? I'm confused, please help, thank-you.x
Your question is confusing as well.
1) what makes you think your flash is broken?
2) if your camera is still under the one year warranty, you need to call Nikon 800. NIKON-SV
3) the on-camera flash does NOT have to be working to use a Nikon SB external flash
4) you can take the camera into a camera store and have them look at it for you to see if the flash is damaged.
5) are you attempting to use the flash with the shutter speed faster than the flash sync speed of 1/200th second?
What is the flash doing?
What do you want it to do?
I'm eh- 75% sure your flash is not broken. They do different things, pop up or don't pop up, and flash or don't flash and at diffrent intensities before, after, at the middle and with a limited shutter speed.
There's a very good chance you're just not understanding what the flash is doing. If you gave us details we could likely tell you what to do to make ti work.
