Nikon D3100 for vlogging?

So I will be going on vacation in a month and I'm planning on vlogging with a go pro hero 4 silver but I don't get the go pro til a week after the vacation so I was wondering if Nikon d3100 (which I already have) would be a suitable camera to use for vlogging? It's seems pretty big and obnoxious as a vlog camera imo so i don't know

If that is what you have and you refuse to spend any more while waiting for the GoPro then it should do. Pretty big and obnoxious is spot-on.
If you can spare a couple hundred, see the Sony Handycam. With longer recording time, better autofocus and reversible flip screen, you won't go wrong with it.

Vlogging's pretty obnoxious anyway, but it's easier to use what you have.

Vlogging is easy, But not with a DSLR. The DSLR is mainly made for shooting images or making short films.
If you shoot with a Canon powershot vlogging camera, It's way better and easier, A DSLR doesn't catch all the frames well if you move it around fast. And you will have a big chance of dropping the DSLR.
