IS GO PRO HERO 3 BLACK EDITION WORTH FOR FILMING?

I have a Nikon d5000, however it is not a very ideal camera for filming, more on photography. Is go pro hero 3 black edition worth getting if I were to go into filming like YouTube sensations? If not, what other quality cheap cameras is highly recommended?

"Filming" what?

The GoPro series are great adventure cameras, but their value is largely in the fact that they can survive impacts, weather, and submersion.

There's no zoom.
There's no viewfinder (Wi-Fi connection to a smart phone can serve this function)
There are limited manual inputs.

When used as intended, they are hard to beat. The black can easily be overkill for a "Youtube sensation".It can also be disappointing if used in the wrong environment.

So, define what you want to do, THEN go camera shopping.

It's a camera that is intended to be mounted and shot in that manner. It is not an everyday camera and not easy to use in a regular way.
