How to remove a horrible smell from my camera?
I know I'm stupid bla bla bla, but I shared my Nikon D3100 with my lunch, so now fish sauce (Which has a HORRIBLE STAYING smell, you can't remove it that easily.) is all over the camera. The camera still works, but it smells horrible.
Anyone has tips to clean a camera?
Time to get a new camera.
You'll need a specialist to service it. If it's got in the gaps around the lens focus/zoom rings, the lens will have to be dismantled. You won't be able to get into the gaps to clean it. For the body, you may be able to clean around the various covers but it may get into any joints in the camera body which will mean dismantling the camera body.
How did you get Nam Pla all over your camera? Did you have a food fight?
I use nước mắm a lot in my Asian food and it has never resulted in my cameras smelling fishy
I suggest you have a local authorized Nikon repair shop clean it for you.
You might try this stuff. I use it for all my kids sports equipment, and it gets rid of the nasty stale sweat smell. It really works.

Fish sauce? Patis? Alamang? Bagoong? Haha! Wrap with cooked rice and eat your camera.
Wrap the camera in cheesecloth (katsa). Put it in the bottom of a fully dried pail. Fill up the pail with charcoal (crushed but not powdered would be better and no ash). Let it stay there for a week.
If the camera still smells after that, bring it back to the store you bought it from and ask for cleaning service.
