Cheap, Good, Beginner DSLRs?

Hey i'm lauren. I'm turning 14 in january
i've always wanted a digital SLR like for years but my parents are stingy and yeah
and i'm hoping to get one for christmas if i can find one under a $1000 or $800
does anyone know good DSLRs for under that price?
for BEGINNERS
i saw the nikon d3100
what's the difference between that and the nikon d3000
and is it worth buying for 700?

If you can get the D3100, get it. Other-wise the D3000 is a good camera to start with.

D3100 is the best out right now and it's $650 on Amazon. Great image quality, noise performance, it's small and light and captures video in HD.
