Can I use old lenses for a new Nikon SLR D3100?

I NEED HELP PLEASE!
I NEED HELP PLEASE!

I'm planning to buy a Nikon SLR D3100 very soon. I already have a few old lenses that are in great condition.
I think the first one is a Nikon fit Albinar ADG 80-200mm f3.9 lens Ai-S AIS zoom
Then I also have a Vivitar 100-300mm 1:5 close focusing auto zoom (just read it off of the barrel)
In addition i have a Canon zoom lens FD 35-105 mm 1:3.5

Would any of these work with a new Nikon?

Yes, but the Canon lens obviously won't fit.

Yes, and to make sure carry them with you when you go to buy your new camera and make sure.

First, here is a list of all the lenses Nikon has ever made and what cameras can use them

As you will see, the, old manual lenses will not meter using the D3100 and any old AF Nikkor lenses you have laying around will meter, but you will have to use the electronic rangefinder in the viewfinder to manually focus the lens.

It is assumed that anyone buying an entry level Nikon dSLR will be starting fresh and will be buying the new, ultra-fast auto-focus AF-S lenses for their new camera. This is the way that Nikon can keep the costs down by not including an auto-focus motor in those cameras.

You would need to buy a Nikon D90 or better camera to be able to auto-focus with the Nikkor AF lenses.

It is obvious that the Canon lens will not work. It will not work on the new (since 1988) Canon EOS cameras either. That lens is obsolete.

What you did not read off the lens barrel of the Vivitar is what camera it fits

While the AI-S lens will work on an older Nikon 35 mm SLR and maybe the Vvitar will. If you don;t want to buy a good used Nikon F4 to use them, give them to someone like Goodwill and they will find them a good home
