Nikon SLR Cameras

Are all Nikon 35mm SLR's really way better than any other brand?

Some people say they are ridiculously overpriced, while many others claim that no one has ever matched Nikon film cameras?

Added (1). Come on guys, stop being so aggressive!
If you want, just change my ignorant question to: Did Nikon build the best film cameras?
Breathe, relax…

Well, I don't know if I would make statements that bold, but SOME of the Nikon 35mm cameras were quite robust. While Nikon certainly built lower quality, consumer oriented cameras, they also built some exceptional pro grade bodies. Heavy and tough as nails. They were built to withstand some very severe use by war photographers and such. So, I would say that those statements could be considered pretty accurate for SOME of the Nikon bodies, not all.

No. That is not true at all, and I doubt many people would say that.

First, 35mm SLR's are little more than a light tight box designed to hold the lens in front of the film.

Second, you will find very littler difference comparing similar models of Nikon, Canon, Pentax, and Olympus cameras.

Well, to be honest, a short answer would have to be 'yes and no'…
If you're talking about the mechanisms, innovations and lenses systems alone, I'd say that some products from Pentax, Olympus, Minolta and Canon easily are on par or even better than Nikon, but if you're talking in terms of physical quality -materials, assembly, design-, they are absolutely way better than any other competitor because of its consistency in delivering outstanding products.
Care must be taken when talking about these three Nikon cameras, which despite taking Nikon lenses, are not really made like the rest of the family: Nikon EM, Nikon FG and Nikon FM-10. The last one isn't even a genuine Nikon, but a Cosina generic body that shares its chassis with the Olympus OM2000, Canon T60, Yashica FX-3 and lots of Vivitars.

How are any of the above answers "aggressive"? I think it depends on the model. An N75 is not an F6, though both were released around the same time.

No.

"Did Nikon build the best film cameras?"

No.

And not always the "best" lenses, either. Some, yes. All, no.

My guess is that your Leicas are the Rolls Royce of SLRs- Nikons have more lenses /accesories

Since you seem to have a low aggression sensitivity, I'll keep it short and simple.
