Which Nikon Lens for shooting videos?

Which lens is better for video a 50mm 1.8G or a 55-300mm zoom lens?
I'm doing a video shoot this weekend using my D5200 and I'm wondering which lens is better for video shooting? A fix lens like 50mm or a zoom lens? I'm capturing video in low light and its also a dance competition (if that helps answering my question).

Zooming further means your picture takes less brightness, and your focusing takes longer time. For low light conditions I will trust a non - tele fixed lens, unless your camera is good enough to handle those thing.
