Ill be doing a lot of wildlife, landscape and lower light shooting. Answers from fan-boys don't mean much, i want handon experience on these cameras!

Canon is much better than nikon

Canon is better but the lowlight of the Nikon is better. The pixels in the Nikon are bigger and better at low light. I do own canon 7D but its low light is OK but the Nikon D700 is better at low light. I say go with the Nikon.

You can decide for yourself.

Here is how the sensors of those two cameras perform

A Nikon D5200 because it shoots at 24.1 Megapixels and HD videos. Many happy days have come from using a Nikon camera.

I don't know if you are shooting pictures or video. If Pictures the Nikon takes better pics but not in low light over cannon.

If video I would get the t3i. Its cheaper since the 4i came out, but they are same video wise so no reason to buy the 4i. F*** Nikon video

Look at what Pentax and Sony have to offer, and find a dealer who'll let you handle them - you'd be amazed how easy the choice is with the camera in your hands.

I think Nikon cameras are equal to that of Canon, but also have a superior build quality so that the camera can withstand bumps and knocks in everyday life. I use a D3200 most days for quick shoots, and a Canon T4i for more serious photography. Either way, they are awesome cameras and I would recommend getting some HOYA filters if you can afford it to maximize your photos.

If low light is important to you, then Nikon is the way to go. If you review the various low-light ratings on DxOMark, Nikon consistently outperforms Canon.

And the Canon T3i and T4i (and even the T5i) are just the same old tired 18 Megapixel platform released over and over again as a new camera.

D5200 - no brainer for low light. You'll be fine with it as long as you don't expect to be able to meter with very old manual lenses. See the DXO sensor comparisoms in the link below.

Low light at ISO 25600: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/..._with.html

Wildlife: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/..._6_ED.html

Landscape: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...mc_DA.html

More low light: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...f_1_4.html

Now, if you still don't get it, you can use any dSLR to shoot anything as long as you exactly what you are doing.

If you're choosing between the 3, Canon t4i (650d). I much prefer Canon and the t4i is much better for value.
