Hello I'm on a budget for a cheap-ish waterproof camea under $150 for a vacation where we will be snorkeling. I'm torn between Target's the PANASONIC TS25 (Orange Lumix) priced on sale at $140 OR the NIKON S33 in white. Both waterproof. I looked at the specs and the nikon s33 seems to have an advantage in HD Video at 1080HD, but other than that I'm not sure. A comparison website said to go with the Panasonic. What do you guys think if you HAD to choose between the 2. Please don't say neither or suggest any other cameras.

Nikon is a very big name among cameras, but most camera makers produce quality - including Panasonic. Panasonic makes about any appliance - big or small - used in a house - vacuum cleaners, shavers, coffee makers, stereos, microwaves, toasters. They make it all; they have an awesome website with all of it. Besides cameras, I'm not sure what else Nikon makes. I would probably pick Nikon because they are about the top camera maker - more so than Fuji and others. I wouldn't be scared to buy Panasonic anything though. You can go to Amazon.com, search both cameras, and read the reviews. That is what I always do.

I have the older Nikon Coolpix S31 and it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Survive dives into water, shoot great snaps of my friends and family when I'm not working using my digital SLR and is small enough for me to carry everywhere in my pocket
