Where should I store my Nikon FE if it?
Has Ilford Delta 100 35mm film in it that has not been used. I had ordered the film and kept it in fridge 2 nights. Put it in cam and took a few macro shots. Will the remaining unexposed shots be ok inside the cam for when i go to san diego in 2 days? Where should I keep the cam? I'm new to the film world as you can see.
You don't need to refrigerate for a few weeks, but avoid an excessively warm or moist location. To avoid the risk of tiny light leaks accumulating, keep it in a good camera case for storage and transport.
Don't put it in checked baggage. They use strong x-rays on those. A few passes through security may be okay. Ask if you can avoid the x-rays. It could be a good idea to get your film processed at your destination to avoid more x-ray on the way back.
When I lived in San Diego long ago, George's Camera on 30th St near University Avenue was very good.
The warnings about film are valid, but they're intended for the casual, "Christmas tree at either end, beach in the middle," (don't laugh, I've seen this) family snapper, not someone who's leaving film in his camera for a few days.
Just avoid extremes of heat and cold, and you'll be fine, but keep your extra film in the fridge until you leave (not essential, but it won't hurt).
