Target, Walgreen's, CVS, and etc.
I'm thinking about getting a Nikon FM pretty soon, and I''ve been wondering how much it will cost to get it developed.

Check their prices and find out for yourself. You can probably get your images on disc for a little extra.

Why not phone and ask them?

I get a 36 exp colour print film developed, 6x4 prints and CD rom scan of the negatives for £7 here in the UK.

The Nikon FM is an amazingly simple and intuitive camera that will likely last a lifetime! I hope you enjoy it!

The cheapest lab on your list is Target. They charge $0.95 per roll for processing and I think $4.99 for a CD of low res scans.

I encourage you to try different labs though and be sure to communicate with the lab techs about any issues you have or do not understand. The more you talk with them, the more you'll understand and the better work they will do for you.

I used to have Target to all my cheap work but recently switched to Costco. While a membership is required, they can process and give you a disc of high resolution scans for about $5 a roll. My Target techs did a little nicer a job with the scans but if it is a photo you want to print bigger than 4x6, you'd have to have it rescanned at high resolution anyway. I prefer to use Costco and take a little more time editing each shot and knowing that I can print from the file they give me.

Enjoy!

You'll have to call them or visit the websites to check the prices. I know that the cost of developing film is going up nowadays due to the dominance of digital cameras, so what I find is most economical (if you are a constant film shooter) is to buy a development set, some chems, and learn how to develop your own film. If you're only shooting B&W you don't even need a dark room, just a dark bag and some developer tanks, which are pretty cheap. Plus you have control over how your images are exposed and don't have to rely on a machine to do it for you.

But typically I believe the price I was charged last time I visited a walgreens to get my film developed was about $18 but that included some prints as well. I think to develop and receive negatives + a CD with the scanned negatives on them is only around 7 or 8 bucks though. Like I said, I began to shoot more film than I thought and developing my own film actually saved me loads of money.
