Nikon SLR Cameras

What camera would be good for travel, high resolution, and good for beginners?

I'm traveling a lot this summer, and leaving the country for a bit, I really want to try out a Nikon or Canon, since those seem to take really good pictures, but I don't know where to begin when looking for one. Any specific camera you could recommend?

Any Dslr are good. Honestly stick to Nikon or Canon. Also, In my opinion Canon dslr are really good on the video side so if your gonna take more videos then pick Canon. Now for Nikon, the images are really good but the video is useable. Not outstanding like Canon but it's ok.

So Dslr that I recommend:

For Nikon-
D3200, D5000, D5100, D3100 } All great beginner cameras and a bit advanced. Great on photos and ok on videos.

For Canon~
T2i, T3i, T3, T4i, T1i } All great beginner cameras. But again, they're really good on Video and ok on Photos. Honestly I think if your gonna be more into Videography or Videos then pick Canon.

You're leaving for the summer and want to bring a camera with you. You're not familiar with cameras and are swayed by ads into believing there are only two brands existing in the planet. You believe the camera makes good pictures not knowing any better that it's actually the user's skill that makes pictures good or bad. Given that I insist on this.

It's not a favorite brand but does whack a wallop. It's easy to use and if you just remember to shoot under lots of sunshine, it will provide you with satisfying results. If you insist on shooting indoors or at night, do not hesitate to use flash. Best of all, it makes you look like a winner once you hang it around your neck.

A day has gone by and you still haven't answered first answerer. Go to library and get a book on the different types of cameras. Dec 2011 Consumer Reports would help you.
