Trying to choose my first DSLR, advice?

I've narrowed down my choices to the nikon d5200 and the canon 650d (t4i)
They're being sold for exactly the same price at a local store and I have no preference between nikon/canon. I'm trying to choose based on the specs of these two particular models, as they are exactly the same price and I want to better deal.
I've read reviews and comparisons but I still can't choose.
Any input would be appreciated.

They will both give you similar results. The d5200 has a better AF system which will track moving subjects better and it also has a better sensor. If you do allot of video then the D5200 has a stereo mic and manual control in video mode.

The T4i doesn't have as good of a sensor and its AF system is a little on the basic side. However since it will be your first DSLR then you will likely not be able to tell the differences in image quality.

The best thing to do is try both side by side. You need to determine which camera is the easiest to use. You need to check out some local camera shop's in your area and decide for yourself which camera best fits you.

Don't go to a Best Buy of some other big box store because the people there really don't know anything aside from how to make a quick sale.
