I'm stuck between, the Nikon d5200 and the Sonly Alpha a6000! They both feel great in my hands. I'm only an ENTRY-level photographer, so please be considerate that this is my first rodeo with a DSLR! I will mostly be taking pictures of families, children, nature, engagement photos, and seniors! Please no negative comments, I like both of these cameras. Just need some opinions based on experience!

Ok, firstly I'm a bit confused about you saying, on one hand, that you are an 'entry' level photographer, then saying you are going to be doing 'family, engagement & senior photoshoots' which implies that you are intending to promote your services as a professional photographer.

My personal choice would be the Nikon, but that's based on my requirements for flash & off camera lighting. If you are intending to do portraits, you will need some form of lighting and good, fast prime or zoom lenses. The choice of lenses will be greater with the Nikon.
