I'm an amateur photographer, and am wondering which camera brand woud be best for me considering the following:

I'm a begginner
Prices
Variety

Would you list pro's and con's of each?

Are we comparing all the different models these companies make? That's probably 50 different cameras… No thanks. Ask a more specific question or do your own research.

Ok, I'll bite:

1) All are pretty decent manufacturers

2) You're a beginner? Go to the library and get out a few books on photography before you even begin to research cameras

3) Prices - EASY! It is called "google it"

4) Variety - you bet! Lots of choices from silly little toys to professional gear worth many thousands of dollars.

Pros and cons: yup, every single camera has a bit of both… It is the balance between them that is important.

Sweetie, start doing some learning. An educated shopper is a happy shopper who doesn't regret their purchase a few weeks later.

I'd avoid fujifilm but the other three are all fantastic choices for any level of camera (from point and shoot to DSRL). There's also Panasonic and Olympus

If you are a beginner, any camera will do… That is any camera where you can use the camera beyond it's auto mode. This generally means it is worth investing into a systems camera(also called a micro four thirds). To keep things on the cheap end, consider the Olympus E-PM1. I own this camera and it is simply fantastic for anyone wanting to learn about photography without lugging around a DSRL or investing over $600 for a decent one. Systems cameras have larger image sensors, interchangable lenses and allow you to control your photos much like a DSLR minus the expense and the weight. You can buy this camera for around $350-$400(and no you don't have to get the pink one). Worth saving for.

All 4 are good. Add Olympus, Lumix and Pentax to the list

Just don't buy GE, Vivitar, BenQ or Kodak

What's wrong with Olympus, Pentax and Panasonic?
What level of camera are you looking at? Compact point & shoot, bridge, DSLR, EVIL?
What sort of budget do you have?
Your question is far too vague.
