You don't mention a few very critical details.
First, what format of camera are you using? Secondly, what types of photos are you taking or want to take?
The 35mm on a DX body has the same angle of view as a 52mm on an FX body. And the 50mm on a DX has the same angle of view as a 75mm on an FX body. They're totally two different lenses used for different types of subject matter.
