Nikon J3 Reviews and Opinions?

I'm debating whether or not to purchase the Nikon J3. Has it improved since the J2? Is it worth purchasing?
I would hope to use this camera for the two Taylor Swift concerts I will be seeing… Does the J3 perform well in low light?
I would also use this camera in a year for my trip to Australia/Fiji/New Zealand… Yay or nay?

Can you take a picture without the big lens? (stupid question… But I'm a little unsure)… Would hate to have this camera taken away at one of the concerts because they consider it "professional!"

Any reviews would be helpful.

Usually ANY camera that uses interchangeable lenses are banned at concerts.

All you can do is let security inspect it and be willing to return it to your car if they will not let it in. If you sneak it in and they later discover you using it, they could have you arrested for criminal trespass and confiscate the camera as evidence

Since the Nikon 1 series camera can shoot in RAW, it may be banned from concerts

The J3 image quality got worse, not better. Just like compacts, camera companies are now ruining the ILC and dSLRs by adding more and more pixels that nobody was asking for.

If you want Nikon, stick to the J1, J2 or the S1.

but you can get a much better sensor in the Olympus E-PM2, or the Sony NEX 3N.

The Nikon 1 lenses are not too large because the sensor is smaller than similar cameras, so the lenses can be smaller. The 10-30mm or newer 11-27mm are nice and small. The 30-100 has nice reach, but it's big enough that it might get too much attention at a concert.

Whatever you do, don't buy a mega/super zoom. They cheat to get that big zoom by using a cheap, tiny image sensor, the image quality of those cameras is barely OK in good light and total garbage in low light.
