Nikon eye-fy upload?

I have a nikon cool pix camera with eye-fi/wi-fi capability. I was on campus earlier and was able to connect to my tablet from my camera. I've uploaded pictures this way a few times before. I'm trying to turn on my camera Wi-Fi now but it won't let me. I enabled the eye fi but now I can see the Wi-Fi selection but can't select it. I've had this problem before but it seems to work in other places. I'm confused to as why the Wi-Fi option is available in some places but not at home. There's Internet here. I've used it in places without Internet though.

This may seem obvious, but do you have Wi-Fi at home? Just having Internet does not guarantee you have Wi-Fi. Also, whenever I connected my tablet to my Internet at home I had to know my password of my Wi-Fi in order to access it. Using it other places sometimes means that they do not have a secured Wi-Fi, so you can access it without a password.

Do you have a router at home.
