With a Nikon brand or Nikon mount 70-300mm it should be compatible. If it is any cheaper model than the Nikon 70-300mm AF-S VR it is a stupid waste of money. You would be better off getting a bridge camera. Seriously, what you lose from small sensor noise you would gain from better optics in the bridge cameras than the cheap 70-300mm's.
