Nikon D5300 lens recommendations?

Just got a new camera (Nikon D5300) and was wondering what kind of lens should I buy for it? Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.

If it came with the 18-55mm, stick with it until you can answer this question through your own experience.
If it didn't, what were you smoking?

Use the 18-55mm lens until it starts to make you think "I wish I could…"
At that point buy the lens that solves your problem.
