Nikon 1 J1 Flash stopped working?

I purchased a Nikon 1 J1 camera for Christmas and was taking photos at a Christmas gathering when the flash suddenly stopped working. It was only the second time I used the camera. I can't find any setting or function that would cause this. Anybody have an answer?

The Nikon J1 is an insult to the Nikon name. Little more than an advanced point & shoot with lens that can be changed.
That tiny little flash is next to useless. It probably burned out. If there's still time, I'd take it back for a refund and buy the D3100.

I agree just get the d3100 its a great camera, I own one and I love it, heres a link to my flickr using the d3100
