NIKON 1 J1 Flash not working all of a sudden?

Was taking pictures a few nights ago, alternating between flashing and no flash, when i popped up the flash this one time, it just didn't work, and so i thought to myself, maybe it was just a bug, so i tried again, popped the flash back up, still no flash. I'm really confused as to what has happened because I've been googling this problem and I've only seen 3 other people who have this problem

i've been really careful about pushing the flash back down and what not, so i really doubt that I damaged it in anyway…

Is this a known issue? Is my product defective? Or…
please help! Need to take pictures for my graduation in 2 weeks!

Check that you haven't turned the flash off. If you haven't, consult your dealer.

I'm having the same problem. Flash will not work.

I have had the same problem. This happened with my first one while on vacation so I returned it and got a new one but now my new one just stopped working as well. Very frustrating!

Same here… I don't get it! I haven't even used it that much. I actually haven't even used the camera that much… I got it like a month ago from my mom before I moved abroad. Does anyone know what's the problem?

This camera is great but the flash Stopped working, They will fix it but deny they have a huge problem, but they do.

Same here! Flash has stopped working. Tried resetting everything, battery out, battery back in, etc and still nothing.
