New SD card not recognized by Canon Camera (Ixus 55)?

Bought a 16GB class 10 microSd card with adaptor. It works great in my Nikon camera but Canon camera is not recognizing it. I've tried formatting it in different formats. I've even formatted the card with the other camera and tried it. Is there anything I can try?

Only supports SD not SD-HC
so it means the chipset only supports older cards usually up to 2GB.

It may be because your Ixus does not accept SDHC. Try an SD card with at most 2GB. They're different. Avoid micro cards with an adapter. The adapter is troublesome and may lead to loss of pictures.
