I'm new to selling on eBay, previously just been a buyer. I understand how it works but I'm just worried that no one will buy from me because of no indication of feedback. I'm have Nikon dslr that I'm wanting to sell but I don't think I will look very appealing to buyers. Any ideas on how to attract buyers?

I'm a genuine person.

You may find it easier to sell your things on craigslist

Why?

* you get your money in cash
* the buyer has the chance to check the product for damage before they buy
* you do not have to deal with packing and shipping costs

Point out you buying reputation, you have one on ebay. Don't fear it. A lot of people don't check

Please give me the 10 points for best answer!

Every seller starts at zero! Just check out other sellers, to compare prices and how to set out your ad, and postage costs, etc.

If you are worried about your rep., how about selling some small items first for not much profit, then make sure you send them out quickly and well packed to get some improved feedback before you put your expensive DSLR on sale?

Two problems I see right away. The first one you mentioned. I agree with David, perhaps Craig's list is a better option.

Second is that ebay has become a dumping ground for all kinds of scams. Unknown sellers often cause shoppers to be cautious and stay away because of what's happened generally on ebay. I have to believe that most ebay sellers are honest people but have the same problem because of the bad guys out there. I know I sound like a cynic but hey… The world is a bad place and the web is no different.

Craigslist? Forget it! On eBay you are presenting your item to approaching 1 billion potential buyers worldwide, Craigslist is for those within travelling distance. It would be cheaper to post your Nikon to the other side of the planet than to drive 50 miles and back in most countries so don't restrict your market.
Describe your Nikon accurately, don't exaggerrate it's condition, report all faults and buyers will respond. If you don't know how to properly check the lens condition, find out! Buyers now delight in shine torches through to see dust, fungus, and other flaws so, although the best authorities say this tells you nothing about a lens's performance, you must do the same too. If only to satisfy those that look instead of using.
