Model 70 scope/mounts?

Just got brand new 3006 model 70 as a gift. Only have about $200-300 for scope/mounts.

1 or 2 piece base?
Scope?

Was looking at nikon prostaff.

Please don't respond with "save your miney buy better scope"

Weaver bases and rings are inexpensive and good quality. I use them. Get two piece bases. I would probably go with a six power Weaver, but nothing wrong with Nikon. Don't waste your money on a variable power scope, a 4 or 6 power will do the job.

A Weaver Classic K-Series Rifle Scope 6x38 Dual-X Reticle will run you about $160, bases about $5 each, and Weaver rings about $25.00/pair. I could not find a fixed power Nikon. A Nikon 3-9x Prostaff will cost about $170.00
