Looking for a new camera? - 2

I'm really into photography and I'm asking for a nice camera for my birthday. I was wondering what would be a good camera for about $400.It would preferably be Nikon, but anything is fine. I would like it to take HD photos if that's possible and have it take rapid fire pictures.

Apologies in advance but you need to learn some terminology.
HD applies to Video not photographs.
By rapid fire pictures I take it you want to take a number of photos in a short time. Most compact/point and shoot cameras manage about 1 or 1.5 frames per sec. A DSLR will manage up to 4 or 5 depending on specification.
For your $400 you could get a Nikon 3000 with 2 lenses, link. This takes up to 3fps and will have everything you'd want, except video. It's 10MP which is more than enough unless you want your photos to be the size of a wall.
For anything higher spec you'll be looking at nearer $500 and above, link 2

Anything that is Nikon or Canon
