My wife really like taking photographs. She wanted to be a professional photographer. But she never learned any photography or anything. But she takes pictures with a normal 10.8 MP Samsung Digital camera, which is basic and 6 years old. I really want to buy her much professional camera and equipments she need to do photograph; and want to put her in a photography course in a collage. And I want buy a sony laptop which would very much good with photography. Not sure what when and which to choose. I want to give her full surprise with the complete package this year; as we're married five years, I really want to make her happy as her dream come true.

Please advise me which camera suits more; what kind of equipment she need; which laptop suits for photography; which software is the best one and what relevant course she can follow at a college.

Hi. What a wonderful surprise to put together. If she wants to shoot professionally, I would go with a digital DSLR. DSLR cameras come with removable lenses. She can start with a kit lens and then upgrade lenses as necessary. You can't go wrong with a Canon or Nikon camera, but I'm sure there are many others as well. You should stop by a camera shop or call B&HVideo to get more information. B&H is a reputable store with very knowledgable staff and great prices. From the links you shared, I'd vote for the Nikon. As far as the laptop computers go, it all depends on your budget. I use Apple computers and my preferred software is Photoshop. Photography can be learned online or through books and lot's of practice is the best. As far as college courses… You should check with your local college. My college has AA in Arts - Photography, AS degree in Photography (shorter than the AA in Arts) or non-credit courses at night, where you can learn photography without having to work on a full degree. Check out Bryan Peterson's photography books. One of my favorite is "Understanding Exposure." Hope that helps a bit.

Of the cameras you have selected, only the Nikon D5200 is a DSLR, which is the top end of photography. The others are Bridge cameras which are a step below.
Why have you shown the Nikon lens? You will need the Nikon body in order to use that; it will not fit on any other make of camera.
As for laptops; well, any good spec model will be fine for loading, storing and manipulating images. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Sony.
A photography course depends on where you live. It might be best to look locally in high schools or universities to see if they do an adult, evening course.
