What would you do? Would you buy a refurbished lens?

Would you rather buy a lens refurbished by Nikon than a generic brand like Tamron, I want to buy a 17-55mm f/2.8 but new is around $1400 refurbished I can find it at $ 1000 but I'm not sure if the lens will be the same?

Yes it is worth it. Though, there's nothing wrong with 3rd party lenses if you want to save some money. I've read that the $450 Tamron 17-50 2.8's IQ isn't all that bad compared to the Nikon. Its just the build quality that's not up to par.
