Petal Lens Hood for AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm?

I was wondering if there was a decent Petal Hood For my Nikkor 55-300mm and my 18-55mm lenses.
Not too sure if Nikon manufactures Petal hoods for these lenses, but I'm willing to buy a decent third party hood.
Any Suggestions?

You don't need a petal hood for the 55-300, just a deep one.

Petal hoods are for lenses that zoom from wideangle to telephoto - they're a compromise to prevent vignetting at the short end, so yes for the 18-55mm, no for the other one. Nikon do make hoods to fit these lenses, but just about any dealer can provide a cheaper third-party version.

My guess is you want a petal lens hood because the look cool or more professional in your opinion. Not all lenses use them.

If you buy the wrong one, either you will get vignetting at 55 mm or inefficient shading of the lenses front element

Whatever your reason for wanting one, look on Amazon. They have loads of lens hoods of all shapes and sizes, third party and branded. They are sure to have a type that will fit your lens.
